Well today Yahoo introduces its Podcasts services which allow users to search, listen, subscribe, review and rating it. I've tried to search my favourite podcast shows, which is TWIT, and the result shows up, but it is not too update as i think it would coz TWIT has the new show which is episode 26 but in the Yahoo Podcasts services results shows that it is only shows episode 25. Anyway, if you wanna try to listen to it, just click the listen button and it will pop up a new window and you can listen to it. But if you wanna subscribe it, you have to sign up if you don't have an account, but if you do, you have just to sign in which is also used for Yahoo email account, games and 360 degrees account, apart from it.. hehe

This is a good news for me as i'm always searching for a Linux magazine and i don't want to spend a lot of money in buying it. Then i found out that Tux magazine is giving away free monthly subscription magazine via PDF files format. Hard Driver failure

A couple of my friends send me their PCs for me to repair it and i've discovered that their problems is mainly the hard drive failure. One of them cannot boot into windwos properly and it was so lagging and slow, the other one is kept restarting. I've put to the test between these 2 hard drives by connecting it into my PC and then i realised the hard drive is the main problem. It became malfunction and slow to process. I don't want to mendle with it coz hard drive is very sensitive and any person with high-tech tools and a very clean room just like the hard driver manufaturer's factory can repair the hard drive. Well one thing to solve this is by back up the data (even by using Knoppix could not solve it as the hard drive failure really pissed me off) and replace the new one.

Well i've been thinking, what's next after podcast? Podcast have been a major boom attraction for a couple of months and a lot of people have jumped into the bandwagon but if there's too much of it, people won't give a damn about other podcast shows. Then, why not videocast or also known as vlogs (video weblogs), vodding, vlogcasting, or vidcasting. Sort of video broadcast like podcast shows by using RSS feeds. Isn't that cool??

Stop monitor Flickering

I've a less-known-brand monitor which is TECOM, i don't know where it is from but i think it is from Taiwan and correct me if i'm mistaken, and i've expereience the flickering thingy for a couple of months now. It is irritating!!! Damn it!! I've tried a lot of things to stop it, including i hit the monitor using my hands, switched it off and on back and forth, and all pull the VGA cable and plug it in again. SIGH... until i don't know what to do..

Lastly, i googled it out and try to find the solution and eureka.. there's a website that shows why the monitor is flickered and also shows the solution. That's how i know why the flickering occured, well the refresh rate for windows 98 is about 60Hz but i'm using Windows XP (Pirate one..) so i change the refresh rate from 60Hz to 70Hz.. and it solves it.. yahoo!!!!

Firefox 1.0.7 is out!!!!!!

Well after Firefox RC was released, i download it and it tried it but it crashes all the time.. i really hate it, anyway it is still not the full version... after that i downloaded the newest version of Flash Player plugin for my beloved Firefox but to no avail the flash contents in any webpage could not be viewed!!! Even Macromedia website can't be viewed its flash contents.. huh? Wtf, i just can't believe it and i googled on how to overcome the problem and in the macromedia forum they said to uninstall the newest flash plugin using the uninstaller from the Macromedia website and then install the previous flash plugin and it solves it!!! Yahoo!!!!!!!

Anyway, i'm waiting for the 1.5 version of Firefox as they say on Firefox road plan, heheh this is the best browser i have ever used but some websites still didn't include Firefox compatible in its web-app... sometimes it is annoying that you can't view the page as it is not compatible with IE.. damn i really hate it!!!

Damn it, seriously i don't wanna install the file compression utility iZarc becoz after i uninstall it, it leaves a .dll files which is hard to delete and the iZarc function is still in the system, when you right click, it still have the function as it used to, send to izarc.. or whatever, and it won' t dissapear as i delete the registry key at the extension shells.. damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it makes my hard drive freeze a couple of times.. So i decided to reformat my pc.. and after long hours and pain staking process to install all of the softwares... i'm getting too tired and sleepy.. yaawnnnnnnnnnnn

File Compression Utility

Well i already dumped WinZip a long time ago when it did not support some extensions like .tgz or something.. after that i use UltimateZip which is quit good and i use it for such a long time and then they tried to charged it with the new version.. and i said what the *&^%, i changed it and use the iZarc software and they still didn't support some file extensions.

Finally, now i'm using back the Ultimatezip and after i install it they asked me to register, like Winzip does, and i find the crack for it and just use the keygen to register it, duhhhhhhh. hehehe

Listening to Podcast on the new Winamp 5.1

After i've tried the new Winamp 5.1 and for days i'm trying to figure out how the hell i could add my favourite podcast shows onto my winamp. Before this i'm using jPodder as my capture podcast tools but it is not very comfortable to me becoz of it is based on Java that really freeze my pc at one time. As other tools on windows platform using .Net framework from Microsoft, which i didn't like at all, i've tried to search for other software that can capture podcast RSS feeds.

And there it was the only software that it is easy friendly and not affecting my pc. No i'm not talking about iTunes, i'm talking about the new Winamp 5.1. I like it, i use it, and i'm enjoying it.
How?

1. Open your Winamp version 5.1
2. Go to Media Library or Alt+ L for shortcut.
3. Then go to Shoutcastwire.
4. There's 3 sub-menus: Discover, Subscription, Downloads
5. Discover, you can search for any podcast available that winamp can found.
6. Subscription, the podcast show that you subscribe or you can add the feed that you found on the web.
7. Downloads, podcast shows that you download and the rate of download are shown at the bottom of the window of media library.

I've been following Leo Laporte's show Call For Help from Techtv (now defunct). After G4 destroys it and don't even care about it, i'm frustrated and disbelieve how could a TV-Games Station could buy a TechnoGeek Tv Station and then didn't care about it!!! Well after Yahoo! launch the new Yahoo! Messenger, MSN launch its new MSN Messenger version 7.5 which is different from the previous version. After i tried it, the main different thing is that it has a voice clip recording features which is like we leave a voice mail through MSN Messenger but the other quality like Voice conversation and Video conference is still the same. But i do like the video features coz it is much smoother rather than Yahoo Messenger. I don't know why but Yahoo Messenger has the new Call features much like Gizmo and Skype, which is much clearer than MSN Messenger.

There you go, I really like MSN Messenger because the video conference is smooth and i like Yahoo Messenger because the Call features is clearer than before.

Well for a week now i have been trying the podcast thingy and it is all craze about it nowadays. Some of it that it's worth it to listen to and some it are not. At first, i don't know how to start well after i've been searching for the info and resources about podcast and later on i understand how it works, well the only thing that i need is a software right? Well a lot of software have emerged in order to capture the podcast show or MP3s, a lot of them are available for the most particular platforms like Linux, Unix, Mac and Windows. But a lot of the software that i've tried using Windows XP platform used .Net technology, i don't like it because you have to download the .Net from the Microsoft which is a file with a 100+MB of size then install the particular Podcast capture software. What a bummer??!!! Arghhhhh!!!!!

Finally, i've found what i'm looking for, jPodder is a captured Podcast kind of software based on java, well you heard me, Java, yup the first thing that i don't like about Java is that is slow. Sometimes makes my PC hang. Well i can get the hang out of it, at least i don't have to install .Net. Fuck the Microsoft hehe, hey i use the pirate version of Windows XP, who cares.

Yahoo Messenger version 7

Well the new version have come out from BETA version and i've upgraded from the version 6 into the new one. For only one week, all i can say is that it is really gives me satisfying feelings that i can make a lot of things with the new YM v7.0, u can create a blog.. can share photos with other users, just by drag and drop style and also other features that we cannot see on the old one..

But the most importantly, the most important features is the voice conference or call features, it is much much more improved, the old version use the walkie talkie tehcnology, but the new one is using the P2P technology.. just like Skype and Gizmo.. hehehe

Finally, all in all, i do like it and gives a thumbs up and this is really going to be the best competitor to the other IM..

I'm shocked to hear the creation of Mozilla Corporation? At first i thought that Mozilla will be the motherfucker corporate shit who only think about profits and not non-profit.. i think that there will be no open source browser that i like instead of Firefox... but it seems that i'm wrong because there's a lot of reason for it.. some of it regarding the legal and tax issues.. well i know that Mozilla is a potential money-making... that's why they need to corporate it in order to keep it alive..

Well as far as i'm concern this could be lead to the next step for the Mozilla Project and thus makes it more and more threatable to IE hehehe...

Where the hell is the scanner?

Last week i've been helping my friends to upgraded his PC and also his friends..
well they both wanna a new casings, a DVD-Rom, and a new hard drive hehe..
But at the end of the day, they've been looking for a scanner and i haven't been so keen on scanner and i was so shocked that these days the scanner will be replaced by the All-in-one device.. you know the printer+ scanner + copier + printer thingy.. yup, that thing.. they will replace the scanner for a lot of reasons..

saves some space, very useful for office and SOHO use.. and don't forget also for student's use in dorm room..
saves some money...
less hassle with a lot of cables, you know what i mean? heheh

Then, what comes up in my mind is that why on earth is the printer is still around and one thing came up to my mind, pictures.. yup, a lot of us have a digicam and like to take pictures.. instead of transfer it to the PC, people also like to print in and show it to some friends or families or saves it for a collection, wether it is a special occasion or some porn hahah... never mind..
Anyway, printer have also evolved from printing black and white text or document to print pictures on glossy photo paper and also on CDs and DVDs.. isn't that cool..
Oh, i almost forgot.. laser printer also have the colored laser printer also... yup, but it is still expensive though... it is much useful for the professionals, but for who don't care about the money, you can buy it and it is so cool hehe..

AppleInsider is reporting that Intel powered Macintosh computers, recently deployed to a select few developers, are noticeably faster than the current Motorola/IBM powered variety. The developers received an interesting set of hardware over what one would expect to see in a future Macintel. Kits included a single core Pentium 4 3.6 GHz processor mated to 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a proprietary Intel 900 series graphics chipset.

"It's fast," said one developer source of Mac OS X running on Intel's Pentium processors. "Faster than [Mac OS X] on my Dual 2GHz Power Mac G5." In addition to booting Windows XP at blazing speeds, the included version of Mac OS X for Intel takes "as little as 10 seconds" to boot to the Desktop from when the Apple logo first displays on screen.

Developers have also commented that web page rendering and browser load times are significantly improved. Macintels are expected to hit store shelves sometime around the middle of next year.

Linux moves into midrange Motorola phones

Motorola announced a new step this week in its plan to remake most of its mobile phone line with Linux, expanding use of the open-source operating system to midrange phones.

The E895 is a flip-phone design that uses a version of Linux from MontaVista Software, said Cheryln Chin, vice president for Motorola mobile phone marketing. Motorola expects to begin shipping it in Asia in the fourth quarter of the year and in other parts of the globe after that.

Motorola began selling Linux-powered mobile phones in 2003 but, until now, has used the OS only in high-end phones. Motorola expects to change that as software makers slim down Linux and hardware makers bulk up cell phone computing power, Chin said.

With the E895, Motorola has pushed the OS into midrange phones, and Linux should reach mass-market phones "probably in late 2006 or 2007," Chin said. More than half of Motorola's mobile phones will use Linux within 18 to 24 months, she predicted.

Linux is used for lower-level functions such as power and memory management and basic software. However, Motorola relies on Java, which it licenses from Sun Microsystems, for many applications. Indeed, Schaumberg, Ill.-based Motorola announced the phone this week at Sun's JavaOne conference in San Francisco.

Motorola is a lead developer of Java Mobile Edition, but the company sees room for improvement in power consumption and performance, Chin said.

Among Linux competitors already used on Motorola's phones are the company's own P2K, Microsoft's Windows Mobile and Symbian's operating system. In addition, Motorola's Linux relationship with MontaVista isn't exclusive, Chin said. "We will continue to evaluate options in the marketplace."

The E895 can play MP3 files and can accommodate up to 512MB of removable TransFlash memory. Its 1.3-mexapixel digital camera can be used for photos or video. And it's equipped with Bluetooth networking technology for synchronizing data and using wireless earpieces. Motorola didn't release expected prices.

Google Toolbar for Firefox Coming Soon

According to a message at the Googlebar mailing list archive, Google is preparing to release a Firefox version of its popular toolbar.

The posting says the Firefox version of the Google toolbar will be released on July 7th. The toolbar will work with Windows 2000 and Windows XP, as well as MacOS X 10.2, and Linux 8.0+. With the exception of a pop-up blocker, it's expected the Firefox version will have the same features as the IE version.

Firefox users who wanted a Google toolbar clone had to use Googlebar, a popular extension to the open source browser. Yahoo, Google's rival, released a beta version of their toolbar that's Firefox compatible several weeks ago.

Flaw Found in Adobe Acrobat

Adobe has warned of a serious flaw affecting one of the most widely distributed client applications, Acrobat Reader. The flaw leaves users open to attack via maliciously crafted PDF files, which can be spread via e-mail attachments web page links, and can be used to take control of a system.

"Remote exploitation of a buffer overflow in Adobe Acrobat Reader for Unix could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code," says security firm IDefense, which discovered the flaw, in an advisory. A number of bugs in Acrobat Reader have emerged in recent weeks, but none were particularly serious. The last serious flaw to affect Acrobat Reader was in December 2004, when Acrobat Reader 5.x and 6.x were hit by several vulnerabilities allowing remote attackers to execute malicious code.

My friend send me his PC for repairing, and old HP Pavillion, i don't mind at all, but what i don't like about a branded PC is that they design it so that users can't even modify it.. even dismentle the parts... what the hell was wrong with them? Users are not stupid.. they should be allowed to open their casings and able to removed or adding any parts... is that wrong?

I even cut my fingers coz the casing was so sharp inside.. damn it... i hate kept thinking how to dismentle the parts...

Spyware and adware hide in BitTorrent downloads

Purveyors of the applications that pop up ads on PC screens and track browsing habits have discovered BitTorrent as a new distribution channel. According to observers of the trend, videos and music that hide adware and spyware are increasingly being offered for download on various BitTorrent Web sites.

BitTorrent has grown into one of the most widely used means of downloading files such as movies or software. Unlike peer-to-peer networks such as Kazaa, eDonkey or the original Napster, no central search technology exists for BitTorrent. Instead, links to specific files are posted on Web sites.

While applications such as Kazaa have long been associated with adware and spyware, BitTorrent has not. Until now, that is. Chris Boyd, a security researcher who runs the Vital Security Web site, found adware and spyware hiding in BitTorrent files.

In one case, an episode of the Fox TV show "Family Guy" was bundled with several pieces of known adware, according to Boyd. "Under that kind of load, a midrange PC can easily go under," Boyd said. Both spyware and adware are known to hurt PC performance because they use PC resources to run.

In other examples, music files and porn videos came bundled with adware or spyware, Boyd said in an e-mail interview. He suspects that online marketers have launched campaigns to get their software installed on more desktops using BitTorrent.

"This is one of the most egregious spyware infestations that we have seen," said Alex Eckelberry, president of Sunbelt Software, a maker of antispyware software. "It is a major concern. It is going to riddle your system with pop ups, slow your system down and potentially cause system instability."

The downloaded files typically were self-extracting archives that would also install the unwanted software, Boyd said. In most cases, users would be presented with a dialog box advising that the extra software was about to be installed and given the impression that the install was needed to get access to the desired content, he said.

However, Boyd found, it was possible to get access to the entertainment the user wanted without installing the adware or spyware. Simply declining the adware and spyware license a couple of times gives access to the content, he said.

On his Web site, Boyd listed a Canadian company as one of the businesses that send out adware and spyware on BitTorrent. That company's Web site appeared to have been hacked Thursday, with the front page replaced with a picture and a profane message stating that the company should leave BitTorrent alone.

As of late Thursday afternoon, BitTorrent creator Bram Cohen had not replied to an e-mail seeking comment on the issue.

Adobe flaw puts PCs at risk

A flaw in several of Adobe Systems' popular graphics design applications could expose users to hacker attacks, the software maker has warned.

A security vulnerability in the Adobe License Management Service, a component used for product activation, "can lead to an unauthorized person gaining access to the user's computer," Adobe said in a security advisory posted to its Web site late last week.

The affected products are the Windows versions of Adobe Photoshop CS, Adobe Creative Suite 1.0 and Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, Adobe said. The San Jose, Calif.-based company said it is not aware of any malicious code that exploits the vulnerability.

Security monitoring company Secunia rates the issue "moderately critical," which is right in the middle of its five-tier severity rating system.

Adobe has issued a security patch to fix the problem. Systems running Photoshop CS2 or Adobe Creative Suite CS2 are not exposed to this flaw.

Steve JobsSince Paul and Joe have both discussed Apple’s move to Intel let me explain in one word why I think the decision was made.

Supply.

I heard it near the end of an interview Steve Jobs conducted with CNBC’s Ron Insana right after yesterday’s announcement. He was asked about the success of the iPod and iTunes, where Apple has an 80% market share rather than the 3% we’re used to in the PC world.

Here’s what Jobs said, from my notebook.

"We’re thrilled that we seem to be in stock in most places, which is something we didn’t do before."

How many sales has Apple lost over the years because supplies were tight or just expensive? Neither Motorola nor IBM could ever supply the quantities Apple needed, at the prices Apple needed, in order to be anything more than a minor irritant to the WinTel suppliers like Dell and H-P.

But the iPod proved things have changed. If your stuff is better now, it’s possible to ramp-up production fast enough to hold your lead. IBM could not do that for Apple. Intel can.

Yes, this is reading a lot into a little quote, but you have to parse Jobs carefully. He doesn’t say much, and most of what he does say is so heavily couched in happy talk as to be meaningless.

So here’s the bottom line. If you saw an Apple on a shelf, at the same price as a Windows PC, or even a little lower, would you buy it?

We’re going to find out.

Nokia, the biggest maker of mobile phones, was finally rolling out Linux product. (For a bigger picture than the one at right see the News.Com story.)

Is the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet any good? I don’t know. Give me one for a few weeks and I’ll let you know.

It may be that Nokia is going down the wrong road here. Like its competitors the company is trying to build multi-purpose devices. With apologies to Stephen Hawking, it’s seeking a Grand Unified Mobile Device theory.

But maybe Mark Loewenstein is right. As he writes this week in his Mobile Ecosystem, maybe people prefer a bunch of simple devices — a phone that’s just a phone, an iPod that’s just an iPod, a mobile data device that just does data. After all, lose a simple device and it’s simple to get a replacement. Lose a complex device and getting a new one is complex.

Nokia has built its simple devices with the Symbian OS, which has had trouble scaling up to the complexity vendors are now demanding. But you can also make a very simple device with Linux — you don’t have to use all its capabilities — and the Nokia 770 makes Linux, for the first time, a real mobile player.

With Nokia now committed to Linux, other mobile players are nearly certain to follow. This is going to get fun.

There's a new service from Yahoo... photo email service, well i've tried it, but there's the downside of it even though the idea is cool.. it doesn't support Mozilla Firefox, sigh.. it is so sad.. if you try to use it using Firefox.. it will came up with an error saying maybe the server is down or the cookies or whatever... dumb ass.. just says that it does not support Firefox... what a conspiracy... didn't they know why IE is so lame and stupid? so insecure?

Anyway, in order to use this service.. u have to download the software.. yes you heard me... download the software and install it.. after that you will directed to the yahoo mail page in the compose section and a popup will appear.. and guess what.. it is a Yahoo Photo Mail service... drag and drop the picture here and there.. and a lot of features i just don't want to say coz it does not support Firefox...

Will Apple switch to Intel?

There’s a report, apparently in today’s Wall Street Journal but summarized on the Mac Observer and by Reuters, to the effect that Apple has been negotiating use of Intel CPUs. As part of the report, there’s speculation that Apple could abandon the PowerPC for Pentium and the usual less than astute observations that this could bring down Apple’s prices while improving the Mac’s performance.

There is reason to believe that Apple would talk to Intel and may have some news to announce soon, but there’s no truth anywhere in the assumptions most of these "journalists" are making about Apple’s motivation.

First, if you compare equivalent systems, Apple’s products are cheaper than Dell’s. Try it for yourself, go to Apple’s on line store and pick a standard configuration laptop, desktop, or server and then build the nearest equivalent you can using Dell’s on-line pricing. What you’ll find may surprise you: Dell’s low end products are cheaper, but by the time you add components to gain comparability they cost more -and that’s true right across the line with Apple’s high-end product a good $1,500 less than Dell’s nearest comparable workstation.

Second, when you compare performance, it’s important to remember that the operating system and applications environment count too. Mac OS X does a lot more than Windows/XP, but needs more system resources to do it. If, therefore, you want to make a reasonable guess about the relative performance of Mac OS X and Windows XP on the same 3.5Ghz P4 box, you need to first level the software playing field. That’s relatively easy: just look at grid-style super computers where everybody uses whatever Unix is optimal for their hardware and runs the same applications. Compare, for example, performance at the Virginia Tech machine made up from Apple’s X-serves to the NCSA machine in Illinois made up from Dual Xeon Dell servers and what you find is that the Apple boxes contribute 30% more bang per box than the Dells do.

There’s a double bottom line here: Apples to Apples, Macs are cheaper than PCs, and their processors are faster too.

So why would Apple be talking to Intel? Assuming the conversation has been about primary system CPUs, I can think of three possible reasons:

Due diligence. If Apple is about to make a CPU decision - whether that’s simply the renewal of a major contract or a major change doesn’t really matter- they have an obligation to their customers and shareholders to carefully check out the competition.
With the goal of assessing the costs and consequences of adopting the Itanium. Apple has a serious problem with IBM -a company that has not met its CPU supply obligations to Apple and has all but announced its intention to take Apple down roughly ten seconds after Steve Jobs eventually retires. Right now, if Apple sticks with the dual core and later 970 architecture they’ll find themselves behind the performance eight ball with respect to Microsoft’s XBox -for which IBM developed the CPU. Converting to the forthcoming IBM Cell processor isn’t a winner either. Not only does this continue an uncomfortable relationship, but it involves tremendous technical change and traps Apple into running MacOS X on the same basic box IBM and Toshiba are prepping for an assault on Wintel’s Asian markets. The Itanium hasn’t been a winner, but is actually quite a reasonable CPU design with some potential to give IBM and the PowerPC a run for their money. It’s certainly significantly faster and more secure than x86. I think Apple’s adoption of the Itanium highly unlikely, but Apple’s people would be remiss if they didn’t consider it.
As part of someone’s takeover of Freescale Semiconductor. I don’t know what rights, if any, Motorola’s spin-off retained on the PowerPC, but if Freescale has any rights at all it has to be a tremendously attractive takeover target for both Apple and Intel. For Apple because it might offer a way of balancing IBM’s market power, and for Intel because Microsoft’s new relationship with IBM threatens to leave it the odd man out in the next generation PC processor wars.

Oh and the right answer? For the record, my belief is that Apple’s best route out of its strategic CPU dilemma is UltraSPARC. I haven’t seen BSD on Niagara (Sun’s 8-core, 32-thread, 65-watt SMP chip), but if the Solaris systems now in lab and user test are any indication, this could be a winner. Individual processes run more slowly on Niagara than on, say, the UltraSPARC IV, but more of them run in parallel and the power benefit should be enormously attractive to Apple -and the software barrier to SPARC is much lower than it is to either Itanium or Cell.

Microsoft’s winning anti-Linux strategy by ZDNet's Dana Blankenhorn -- Everyone knows that Microsoft has a new anti-Linux strategy. Everyone knows it's based on promises of security. What everyone doesn't know is how well it's working. And it's working better than open source advocates want to admit. Munir Kotadia of ZDNet Australia recently used interviews to diss Microsoft's latest effort in this area, a Wipro-produced survey of 90 organizations indicating Windows is cheaper to patch than Linux.

The snarky response is "Windows takes more patching." But I submit that at the heart of Microsoft’s response to Linux is a strategy to turn its weakness into strength.

There is a new profession being built into every enterprise, network security management. These people are now being consulted on buying decisions. They want enterprise-grade tools, both for finding vulnerabilities and patch management.

By giving them tools such as Software Update Service and (over time) visualization, Microsoft is aiming to win the loyalty of these new professionals and, through their recommendations, stop the spread of Linux in its tracks.

Open source has an opportunity to deliver scaled scanning, patch management, and visualization tools that serve whole enterprises, which are still heterogenous environments. But building such tools will take a big effort, either a big budget or a lot of time. And until those tools are available security professionals will become ever-more entrenched, and ever-more loyal to Microsoft.

It’s not in fixing problems that Microsoft hopes to win. It’s in building tools that help people manage problems where Microsoft hopes to win.

By concentrating its big budget on that one place, right now, Microsoft is winning.

Red Hat to support Tamil

Red Hat will be the first Enterprise Linux OS to support Tamil and launched Red Hat Enterprise Linux v. 4... well it is going to be excited for who understand Tamil language... I don't know understand at all and have no intention to learn the language... but this is one example that open source effort to localize their OS or software or whatever should be viewed as an example by everybody...

I hope one day Malaysia could have their own version of Linux even tho it will sound funny when we're normally get used to English kind of computer and geeky term... instead of translating it into Bahasa Melayu.. Malaysian Language... File into Fail, Edit into Ubah, View into Lihat... Help? I guess it will be TOLONG? hahahahah

Netscape 8.0 is unsafe???? huh???

After couple of days Netscape 8.0 have been released by AOL, Mozillazine found out that Netscape exhibits the Cross Site Scripting flaw that was fixed for Firefox 1.0.4. What a pity :(, but this is open source dude.... every flaws must be told to everyone... so a fixes can be made and patches can be provided...

Anyway.. i guess this could be fixed in a matter of days... just don't worry.. open source will fix it... not like Microsoft...

AOL has released the new Netscape 8.0 and the new version automatically adjusts safety and security settings to help protect users from phishers and other online exploits as they explore the Web. Yes, you heard me, anti-phishing featured in Netsacpe 8.0. That's what open source is all about.. making software more safer to use it....

Netscape 8.0 is based on Firefox 1.0.3 which is based on Mozilla which is based on Netscape source code.. hahah you know what I mean... well that is open source I can tell you... so do check it out... Netscape 8.0

Anyone who want to try the new version of Yahoo Messenger can download it here. There are a major features upgraded that is PC-to-PC voice communications instead of the current walkie-talkie technology with a persistent connection. Yup, it feels like pain in the ass when having a voice conference because of the walkie-talkie kind of style... lagging and all stuff... I like using Skype rather than Yahoo Messenger when using voice conference...

Since this is a beta version.. there are some features that i can't use like repeating type can't be done.. instead u have to type it again... sigh.. anyway as i said.. it is still a beta version... can't wait to get the final version of it... ;)

HD Based PDA?

PalmOne Inc. had shown its latest product, a new pocket device with built-in wireless and storage features that can let users surf the Web, view pictures and listen to digital music and video. This is so cool.. yes i know there are other product that can store a HD movie or such... but this is from PalmOne dude!!!!

It is called LifeDrive and it comes with a large high-resolution screen, 4 gigabyte hard disk drive made by Hitachi Ltd., as well as "wi-fi" and "bluetooth" short range wireless technologies. What a bummer.. i don't have any money to buy one.. hahaha ;)

Anyway, I stop supporting Microsoft product that's why i'm so excited that there are still alternative rather than Microsoft... Pocket PC got a virus too.. that include smartphone.. well i think there are no safe way for Microsoft coz they think they are so good but infact they are stupid in their own way.. long live open source coz that's what makes it special... there are no secure or perfect software.. so let us try to make it better.. with the open source way... that is really really awesome... ;)

The new PS3

Yesterday Sony has show off their new PS3.. i'm amazed about it really amazed.... Sony said it is going to be backward compatibality which means older games can be played on PS3.. as it support the blue ray disc DVD as its new features...

I think this is a counter attack on Microsoft's XBox 360.... i'm not a big fan of XBox coz it is a Microsoft Products and i hate Microsoft coz they are greedy son of bitches....

Firefox version 1.4 is out and I'm very excited about it... regarding their latest version that is 2.0 due out in June.. i hope there are going to be a lot of improvement better and superior (I still think so) than any other browser.. I don't care what people make a bad impression about Firefox or what not.. I just do care that Firefox is the best and most powerful browser available on multiple platforms... even though you can find other browsers in Linux or BSD platforms....

Until then have a good safe surfing and enjoy it while you can... ;)

AMD's Dual Core Athlon 64 X2

For the last few weeks, AMD have launched their Dual Core Athlon64 X2. After all test that have been done by several known websites like Tom's Hardware, a lot of them gave a very good review about the new Dual Core Athlon 64 X2. i'm really excited about the new processor even though it will not be available until summer.. heheh

I am an AMD fan and i still believe AMD processor is still the best and more superior than Intel Processor.. by the way i just helped my friend to buy an AMD laptop hehe.. it's cheap, same performance wise as Intel, so why would he waste a lot of money on Intel Centrino when u can get the same performance with AMD?

No offence but I really love AMD processor.. heheh

Firefox Extensions

These my Firefox Extensions.. which i think very useful to me... i'm not going to use any extensions that will degrade my Firefox performance.. i mean i don't have the latest AMD64 or the latest Pentium 4.. but i don't want my Firefox to degrade its performance as it is much much more faster than IE.. hehehe

Anyway... about the Google Web Accelerator(GWA) BETA version.. i think it is just for anyone who does not configure their browser for making it more faster when they are surfing.. and there's a security issues when GWA has it web caches when someone log on to other website or something.. so anyone can see his credit card or something personal.. and that means bad....

The new release Mandriva Linux LE 2005 is now available for download for most architecture platforms, hmm but i never get the chance to download it coz i'm running out of CDs and not even had a DVD burner for burn it on DVD... so it had been a while since i download a lot of Linux Distro including Knoppix, Gnoppix, YellowDog, and much much more...

Hmm i wonder when will there be a time i can compile the Distro in one DVD...

MSN Messenger 7.0.813 QFE Patch

Well, We've just learned that the MSN Messenger 7.0.813 QFE Patch has leaked to the internet! The patch is a small tool from Microsoft that will update your MSN Messenger to the latest version without having to redownload the entire setup package. The patch is only 757KB. We have confirmed that this release leaked from Microsoft and is not a resource hacked version.

You'll notice that this version includes better performance and unblocks files previously blocked. It also can be installed "Hot", or while using MSN Messenger.

My old comments have gone becoz of i've change it by using Haloscan.. so a lot of old comments have just dissapeared unless i paid for the premium service offered by Haloscan, which is i would not do hehe... but i would like to apologise to all of my friends who kindly enough to put some comment on my blog coz their old comment have just gone just like that.... sigh... :(

But thanks a lot guys for giving me some comments anyway.. the reason why i change the comment system is becoz there are other peoples using not just Blogger aka Blogspot, but also other services such as Xanga... so i would like to give a chance to other blog users not just Blogspot users....

Skype is kick ass!!!

When me and my friend have a voice chat through Yahoo Messenger, it seems our voice was so lagging, it came out on the other side a bit too late in order to reply it.. sigh... so i said to my friend "Why don't we try Skype..." and my friend said "What is Skype???"... well Skype is a piece of software much like Yahoo Messenger but it is totally concentrate on voice chat capability or should i say internet telephony :) and it really had a clear sound too and not too lagging, yeah but it took a couple of miliseconds to come out on the other side depends on the internet connection though...

Other than that.. it has a chat capability so users can chat while they talk to each other heheh.. but there is the downside that users can talk simultaneously.. sighh but it would be so cool if we can do like voice conferencing... hehhe it is so geeky isn't it?

Hmm wonder if anyone have a skype account so that i can talk to.... :-/

I'm so excited the newest version of Spybot is here. I've downloaded it at Major Geeks. I like Spybot more than other anti-spyware tools out there... it is free and it is much much more powerful to detect and deleted spyware, but i would like to use other software like Adaware, Spyware Blaster, and Spyware Guard... just to make sure hahah

I've been trying to get into SMS.ac but it is just a pain in the ass. How many times they have to update their servers? It pissed me off!!! Now i can't send any SMS to my friends... Damn it!!! I only get to send SMS through Maxis's WebSMS, but that's only for Maxis Subscriber's only... 'sigh'

Well CDex's new version is out but you can't get it from its website. But Neowin.net has its beta version. I think the true stable verion will be out sometime soon hehe. I just can't wait to get a hand on it.

Damn it!! After i install Longhorn Transformation Pack 8.0 from TechConnect my system going nuts.. i can't even change to my previous settings coz i hate restore features by WinXP, just hate it...

Then after i backup my data, i just format it, it's that simple, no hassle or bassle... heheh i think as a quick way for me to settle it and start a new fresh system, from the start to finish hehe ;) ....

After this i don't want to make any adjustment to change my theme into something else.. i've tried the MacOSX themes.. but it turn out freezed up my system, damn!!!! But i've never tried the Linux themes coz is there any? haha i just wish someone could told me that i should shut up coz no one would like to do linux themes for Windows... duhhhh!!!!!!
